It is said that when astronauts return to Earth after seeing it from afar, reality takes on shades of fiction. The planet ceases to be an abstract notion, expanding in both scale and significance, while the observer becomes ever smaller. Common words fall short, and self-awareness stretches beyond familiar boundaries. Alien and the series of pieces developed over the past three years arise from a dedicated exploration of the human body as an instrument, probing its inherent purpose and potential alternative uses.
Through this performance, Rodríguez invites viewers to inhabit a fictional realm where forms blur and senses intertwine, challenging and expanding our notions of what it means to be human. This piece offers the possibility of becoming something else, exploring new codes of dialogue where sensory experience, gesture, and subjectivity guide us toward an authentic shared reality.
