Performance + Artist Talk: 16.00–17.00.

Gallery Steinsland Berliner is pleased to present Fight Symphony, a brand new performance piece by Korean artist Seungwoo Park. Based between Brussels and Seoul, the performance marks the artist’s debut in Sweden and the Nordic region.

In Korea, martial arts can be understood through the concepts of Muye (武藝) and Mudo (武道). While Muye refers to the transformation of physical technique into an artistic form, Mudo is closer to a practice of discipline, exploring the relationship between body and mind through repetitive training. In Fight Symphony, the performer undergoes a process of self-dissolution through the repeated rituals of fighting.

Seungwoo Park (b. 1997, South Korea) works across performance, film and visual art. His practice explores the boundary between reality and unreality through unconscious movement, investigating the limits of the body and gravity in work that bring motion into dialogue with visual language.

Fight Symphony by Seungwoo Park is presented by Gallery Steinsland Berliner in collaboration with The Space, a curated program and platform dedicated to performance art. Previous collaborations include: The Death at The Club by Candela Capitán (ES), A Mouthful of Tongues by Stina Fors (SE), Alien by Manuel Rodriguez (ES), Anabolic Spectacle by Teo Ala-Ruona (FI) and BURN! by Esben Weile Kjær (DK).

The performance is realized with support from The City of Stockholm.
